CEL-FI QUATRA Named “Best of 2017” in the 16th Annual Mobile Star Awards

Nextivity today announced that its CEL-FI QUATRA Active DAS Hybrid for enterprise in-building cellular coverage has been recognized as the “Best of 2017” in the 16th Annual Mobile Star Awards program, hosted by the mobile events and news site MobileVillage.com.

Nextivity was named the “Best of 2017” in the following categories:

  • CEL-FI QUATRA, in the “Enterprise Wireless Coverage” category
  • Customer Success Story, 2-1-1 San Diego, in the “Wireless Coverage” category

“This award recognizes our commitment to providing a solution that solves cellular coverage problems for the middleprise, fits virtual every budget, and can be installed within days,” said Werner Sievers, CEO of Nextivity. “With CEL-FI QUATRA, we developed proprietary, fully-digital technology that provides a uniform cellular signal throughout a commercial venue that is as much as 1,000x stronger than the older analog solutions that the middleprise embraced because there was no other option.”

The telecommunications industry has struggled to provide cellular coverage solutions to the middleprise market, leaving buildings from 10,000 to 500,000 sq. ft. with cellular black holes, dropped calls, and poor connectivity at a time when business use of cellular devices has skyrocketed. Enterprise IT departments have historically searched for solutions, but found the cost of a DAS solution typically puts it out of budget range for middleprise businesses. Solutions – such as femtocells and Wi-Fi calling – do exist, but cannot achieve cost-effective uniform coverage for large venues and are interference prone. More affordable residential solutions are not an option because they are simply not robust enough to support business requirements.

CEL-FI QUATRA addresses this gap. It combines the best of active DAS and proven CEL-FI technology that has been widely adopted by carriers around the world for applications within larger venues. CEL-FI QUATRA is scalable, and can be used in single or multi-carrier environments. It can be operational within days, unlike typical DAS solutions that can take up to two years to deploy.
