CEL-FI GO G32 Wins 2021 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award

Smart signal booster recognized for ensuring the cellular connectivity that electric vehicle (EV) charging stations need to operate

Nextivity today announced that its CEL-FI GO Smart Signal Booster won the 2021 IoT Product of the Year Award presented by IoT Evolution World. This award from TMC – a global, integrated media company, in conjunction with its partner Crossfire Media – honors the best and most innovative products and solutions powering the Internet of Things, with nominated solutions judged by the editors of IoT Evolution World magazine. The CEL-FI GO Smart Signal Booster is the first carrier-class cellular coverage solution to feature an industry-leading system gain of up to 100 dB. It was recognized for delivering the cellular connectivity that electric vehicle (EV) charging stations need for remote management and to initiate payment processing.

EV charging stations need reliable cellular connectivity. When an electric vehicle is plugged in to be charged, drivers typically need to swipe a card, enter code, and log into a system to book and sometimes pay for a charge. This is how manufacturers of EV charging systems can monitor which stations are being used, how often, and how many units of power are being charged on the unit per day or over the period of a week. This communication happens wirelessly through cellular frequencies; however cellular signal is weak in many outdoor parking lots and indoor parking structures where EV charging stations are installed. CEL-FI GO is a reliable cellular signal booster that is powerful and flexible enough to overcome the unique challenges posed in both outdoor and indoor environments where EV charging stations are located.  For larger enterprise installations, CEL-FI QUATRA has also been utilized.

“We are seeing more requests from partners looking for a proven solution that can address the cellular coverage needs of the growing number of clients installing EV charging stations. CEL-FI GO is the perfect product to install when there is poor cellular signal in an outdoor parking lot or indoor parking structure ranging from 15,000 to 30,000 square feet,” says Werner Sievers, CEO of Nextivity. “It is very rewarding to see CEL-FI GO G32 being acknowledged for this interesting use case that shows just how integral cellular connectivity is to the Internet of Things.”

CEL-FI GO G32 can be placed indoors or outdoors, is guaranteed to be unconditionally network safe, and is NEMA 4 rated so it will withstand harsh conditions including dust and water exposure. The CEL-FI Wave platform is used to activate, optimize, and manage the booster.
