Nextivity Honored as Telecommunications Company of the Year Stevie® Award Winner in 2022 American Business Awards®

Creators of the award-winning CEL-FI products recognized for gaining traction in emerging markets with new public safety and enterprise solutions, use cases, and partners

Nextivity today announced the company has been named as he winner of a Stevie® Award for the Telecommunications Company of the Year – Medium category in The 20th Annual American Business Awards®. The American Business Awards is a premier business awards program that recognized Nextivity for gaining traction in emerging markets over the past year. Nextivity’s accomplishments include the introduction of new products – CEL-FI QUATRA RED and CEL-FI QUATRA Fiber Solutions – as well as new use cases and partners.

Gaining momentum in Public Safety
To ensure reliable in-building communication in life-or-death situations, Nextivity brought its industry-leading technology to the Public Safety market with CEL-FI QUATRA RED. It is the first ERCES (Emergency Responder Communication and Enhancement System) to deliver in-building coverage to LMR (Land Mobile Radio) systems and FirstNet-ready devices. (FirstNet is the network dedicated to first responders in the U.S.) CEL-FI QUATRA RED enables uninterrupted communications and meets diverse industry standards and jurisdictional requirements.

Nextivity further expanded its presence in Public Safety with CEL-FI QUATRA 1000 FN, the only carrier-grade enterprise in-building wireless solution for FirstNet. It gives FirstNet users priority access to the network, ensuring emergency responder communications do not have to compete for available bandwidth during a crisis.

“Any technology that expands into life-saving areas is commendable. During the pandemic situation, this development ensures that vital activities are occurring without interruption and it is truly remarkable,” said one of the ABA judges. More than 230 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.

“The pandemic significantly increased the need for cellular connectivity, perhaps more than ever before. While many businesses were impacted, innovation and collaboration at Nextivity did not stop, much to the delight of customers and employees,” says Michiel Lotter, CEO of Nextivity. “We have continued to innovate and deliver new capabilities that make CEL-FI the go-to solution for reliable in-building coverage across numerous markets, including Public Safety and enterprise. We are thrilled to have our commitment to innovation recognized with this award.”

Cost-effective alternative to fiber
Traditional DAS is often too expensive and too expansive for many facilities. CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 fiber solutions add fiber connectivity to CEL-FI QUATRA 4000, a multi-carrier, active DAS hybrid that provides uniform in-building cellular coverage to large commercial buildings. QUATRA fiber solutions extend cellular coverage in QUATRA 4000 deployments by distributing the donor signal via optical fiber from one building or location to the next. Using the CEL-FI QUATRA 4000 Fiber Hub, QUATRA 4000 can be deployed in significantly larger facilities such as high-rise buildings – or remote locations like a coal mine – to provide signal coverage at a fraction of the cost of a traditional DAS. In June 2021, Nextivity added to its fiber capabilities with the launch of CEL-FI QUATRA Fiber Range Extenders that provide a cost-effective fiber alternative for tall structures, campuses, and multi-building installations that rely on long fiber runs.

New use cases and partners
The past year also saw diverse applications of CEL-FI solutions — from enabling humanitarian assistance and monitoring the temperature of COVID-19 vaccines to powering a Smart Booster on Wheels for clients in agriculture, housing developments, and mining that require instant cellular connectivity at remote and/or emergency sites; to enabling cellular connectivity for electric vehicle charging stations in underground parking garages for retail and residential properties.

Nextivity also inked new partnerships – including one with World Cinema, Inc. (WCI) to deliver enterprise-grade, in-building cellular connectivity to communities and destination properties throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
